Our mission is to champion the development and application of artificial intelligence in a manner that prioritizes ethics, fairness, and societal well-being.

Benefit in the AIRRC Guidelines

AI systems should be aligned with human values such as fairness, justice, and privacy. AI systems should be used in a way that protects human rights and freedoms.

Human Agency in the AIRRC Guidelines

Giving humans the ability to override the decisions of AI systems. Humans should always have the ability to override the decisions of AI systems, even if they do not agree with those decisions.

Transparency in the AIRRC Guidelines

AI developers and users should disclose information about how their AI systems. AI systems should be subject to audit and oversight by independent third parties.

Impact

The AERC’s work has significantly contributed to raising awareness of the importance of AI ethics. A newly formed organization, the AIRRC, is developing comprehensive guidelines that hold promise for global adoption.
